How to calculate points in basketball game

Calculating points in a basketball match, count each successful shot: 2 points for a shot inside the three-point line, 3 points for a shot from beyond the three-point line, and 1 point for each successful free throw. The total score is the sum of all these points, and the team with the higher total at the end of the game wins.

Points per shot
2 Points: A successful field goal shot made from on or inside the three-point line.

3 Points: A successful field goal shot made from behind the three-point line.

1 Point: A successful free throw, which is an unopposed shot taken from the free-throw line, often awarded after a foul.

This is a variation of how to calculate total points in basketball, yet only referring to a specific quarter. The 1st quarter line for the example above is 40.5 points, so the Over -at 1.57- will win if Real Madrid and Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz score at least 41 points in that given period; otherwise, the Under 40.5 will be a winner at 2.42 odd.

 

Teams
An O/U points bet on one team is actually a team total. In which case, you’re betting on the number of points one of the contenders will score in a game or separately in specific quarters. The most straightforward example would be Real Madrid’s 87.5 line. If they score at least 88 over the 40 minutes or overtime in basketball betting, the Over will secure returns to bettors who backed that outcome. On the other hand, if Real Madrid makes an 86-87 win, the Under team total bet will be a winner.
