INTRODUCTION
Run outs are sudden, sharp, and often game-changing. One quick throw or direct hit can instantly shift momentum in a cricket match.
The Total Run Outs market on Msport lets you predict whether at least one run-out dismissal will occur in the game. It’s a simple but tactical market that rewards understanding of team aggression, running between wickets, and fielding sharpness.
WHAT THE MARKET MEANS
The Total Run Outs market is an Over/Under betting option based on the total number of run-out dismissals recorded during the entire match.
A run out happens when:
- A batter attempts a run,
- A fielder gathers the ball,
- The stumps are broken before the batter safely reaches the crease
This market includes:
- Run outs from both teams combined
- Run outs in any innings
- Direct-hit run outs
- Assisted run outs
- Non-striker run outs (e.g., backing up too far)
This market does not include:
- Catches
- LBW dismissals
- Bowled wickets
- Stumpings
When the line is set at 0.5, it simply means:
- Over 0.5 → At least one run out must occur in the match.
- Under 0.5 → No run outs at all must occur in the match.
The “.5” ensures there is no tie — the bet always results in a win or loss.
HOW THE BET IS SETTLED
| Total Run Outs in Match | Over 0.5 | Under 0.5 |
| 0 run outs | ||
| 1 or more run outs |
It does not matter which team is involved. As long as one official run out is recorded, the Over bet wins.
Example Scenario
Imagine in a T20 match:
- Team A loses one batter via run out.
- Team B has zero run outs.
Total run outs = 1
- Over 0.5 →
Wins - Under 0.5 →
Loses
If the match ends without any run-out dismissal, Under 0.5 wins.

FACTORS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BETTING
Team Running Style
Aggressive teams that push for quick singles and risky doubles increase run-out chances.
Fielding Quality
Teams with athletic fielders and accurate throws are more likely to create run-out opportunities.
Match Format
T20 → Higher pressure and faster scoring → More run-out risk.
ODI → Moderate chance.
Test → Usually fewer risky runs.
Match Situation
Tight run chases often force batters to take risky singles, increasing run-out probability.
BETTING INSIGHT
If both teams are aggressive runners and sharp in the field, Over 0.5 becomes the logical choice.
If both sides are cautious and disciplined between wickets, Under 0.5 may offer better value.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Only official run-out dismissals count.
Super overs may not count (check Msport rules).
Abandoned matches follow Msport’s settlement policies.
