INTRODUCTION
In cricket, not every scoring shot needs to clear the boundary rope. Many teams rely heavily on well-timed ground strokes that race to the fence for four runs. The Total Fours market on Msport is designed for bettors who enjoy focusing on these classic boundary shots rather than power hitting.
This market allows you to predict whether the total number of fours hit by both teams combined will be higher or lower than a number set by Msport.
WHAT THE TOTAL FOURS MARKET MEANS
The Total Fours market counts every legitimate four scored during the match, from the first over to the final ball.
Msport will display a line such as:
- Over 36.5
- Under 36.5
Your selection depends on whether you believe the match will produce more or fewer FOURS than that line.
Over 36.5 → You need 37 or more fours.
Under 36.5 → You need 36 or fewer fours.
The decimal (.5) ensures the outcome is always decisive — no draws or refunds due to exact totals.
HOW THE BET IS SETTLED
| Final number of fours | Over selection | Under selection |
| 0 – 36 | ||
| 37 or more |
All fours from both teams are added together, regardless of innings or batting order.
Practical Match Example:
Imagine an ODI where:
Team A hits 19 fours
Team B hits 18 fours
Total fours = 37
- Over 36.5 →
Winning bet - Under 36.5 →
Losing bet
If the match had ended with only 30 fours, the Under option would have paid out instead.

KEY FACTORS TO CONSIDER BEFORE BETTING
Match Format
There are three (3) available format
- ODIs: This generally record more fours due to longer innings and controlled batting.
- T20: Matches can be unpredictable.
- Test matches: This often see fewer boundaries unless the pitch strongly favors batting.
Pitch Behavior
- True, flat pitches allow batters to time shots easily.
- Slow or uneven pitches reduce boundary opportunities.
Batting Approach
- Teams that prioritize placement and timing usually hit more fours.
- Power-heavy teams may score more sixes instead.
Ground Dimensions
- Smaller outfields increase the likelihood of fours.
- Large grounds encourage singles and doubles over boundary shots.
Match Situation
- Teams chasing a target often look for regular fours to manage the run rate.
- Early collapses usually slow scoring and reduce boundary counts.
BETTING INSIGHT
If both teams have technically sound batters and the pitch offers good bounce, the Over option becomes attractive.
However, when conditions favor bowlers or teams rely on rotation rather than boundary hitting, the Under option often provides better value.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Only boundaries officially recorded as FOURS count.
Byes and leg-byes only count if the ball reaches the rope.
Super overs and abandoned matches are settled according to Msport’s official rules.
