In basketball betting, the ''First half Handicap'' (also known as the 1H Handicap) is a type of spread bet that applies only to the first half of the game (usually the first two quarters). It works similarly to a full-game handicap but focuses solely on the score at halftime.
How it works:
- The sportsbook assigns a point spread (handicap)to each team for the first half.
- You bet on whether the favored team will cover the spread by halftime or if the underdog will stay within the spread.
The following options are available(For example the allotted handicap is 0.5):
Home(+0.5) bet wins if Home team leads by any number of points in the first half, or the teams draw in the first half.
Away(-0.5) bet wins if Away team leads by at least 1 point in the first half.
